UPCOMING EVENTS
Through Their Veins:
Five Mexican Artists, Maria Gaspar, Ricardo Gonzalez, Salvador Jimenez, Xavier Tavera and Maria Tomasula

February 2- March 16, 2012
Opening Reception: Thursday, Feb. 16th 4:30- 7:30pm

This exhibit will feature the works of five artists of Mexican/Chicano heritage who share a strong cultural vision. Works in painting, drawing, photography, video and installation highlight how identity, gender, family, community and political issues can generate images or objects of beauty, reveal cultural misperceptions, and illicit deep emotional response from the viewer. The artists in this exhibit present a complex portrait of Mexican and Chicanopeople.

Planned to coordinate with the Kenosha Big Read, co-sponsored by Carthage College., "Sun, Stone and Shadows; 20 great Mexican Short Stories" events in March 2012, this exhibition will offer a highly visual compliment to the literary riches to be found in theses short stories.
